About Restaurant Nußbaumerin

Tucked away in the heart of Charlottenburg, Restaurant Nußbaumerin brings a warm and authentic Austrian dining experience to Berlin. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels relaxed and welcoming, with a cozy interior that mixes classic Austrian charm with a modern Berlin touch. It is the kind of place where guests can settle in for a long dinner, enjoy a casual lunch with friends, or simply stop by for a glass of wine and a few small plates after work.

One thing that makes Restaurant Nußbaumerin stand out is how naturally it balances comfort and quality. The menu focuses on carefully prepared Austrian dishes while also offering healthy options and organic selections for diners who prefer lighter meals. At the same time, guests looking for hearty late-night food or traditional flavors will feel right at home. The restaurant also serves a thoughtful range of drinks, including Austrian wines, beer, coffee, hard liquor, and refreshing aperitifs that pair nicely with the food.

The service style feels easygoing yet attentive, which adds to the restaurant’s appeal. Outdoor seating is available during warmer days, creating a pleasant setting for people who enjoy dining outside in Berlin’s lively streets. For visitors who are short on time, curbside pickup and takeout make the experience convenient without sacrificing quality. Dine-in remains the highlight, though, especially for guests who want to enjoy the full atmosphere and personalized hospitality.

Another detail many people appreciate about Restaurant Nußbaumerin is its flexibility for different occasions. Whether someone is planning a quiet dinner for two, a casual gathering with friends, or a more private celebration in the private dining room, the restaurant adapts comfortably to the mood. The relaxed Austrian vibe, combined with carefully selected food and drinks, gives the space a genuine character that feels both refined and approachable.

The tag line on the website says come hungry and they mean it. The food is genuine Austrian wholesome fare with great personable service to match. There was great advice on the wine choice too, Austrian obviously. The only regret was that the starter and main were so filling i couldn't manage the Kaiserschmarrn, especially as it's for 2. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal though and would recommend this restaurant especially when the weather turns colder and you need warming food.

One of the best meals of our European adventure! The best beef stroganoff and schnitzel I've ever had. Loved the rosé we had as well. Wish we had had room for dessert! The staff was very attentive and prices very reasonable as well.

A true gem of a restaurant. Outstanding food, wine, hospitality and service. The meal was a highlight of a recent trip to Berlin, it is wonderful to see an independent establishment that so obviously cares about it's offerings and customers. Well served by public transport. Book early to secure a seat.

Very traditional atmosphere and cooking - like my grandmother made - which was perfect for a Christmas dinner. I was very satisfied with each course. The wild deer was my favourite and is an excellent option! The service team was very kind too and helped me choose the best pairing for wine. Highest recommendation!

One of the best veal schnitzels I've had, and not just in Berlin! The prices you pay are equivalent to those near Mitte, but the quality is tip-top and the portion size is much larger! I basically got two schnitzels for the price of one and I ate every last bite because it was fantastic. I washed it down with a Märzen (vom Fass) and even though I was stuffed, I'm a sucker for dessert and couldn't help but order the Kaiserschmarrn for two (to be fair, I had a date). And oh mein Gott was it worth needing to lie down afterward. It was one of the fluffiest, creamiest, most delicious Kaiserschmarrns I've had, and that's saying something. And they make it fresh, so do note that you need to give the server a heads up as it takes around 20m to make. Speaking of, the service is suuuper nice. They're very down-to-earth, friendly, mid-southern German-dialect-speaking ladies, including the owner Frau Nußbaumer! The only nitpick I have is that we had to sit near the bar where the service rushed in and out, but that's quite frankly my fault because I didn't make a reservation, which you'll definitely need on a Friday night. Overall, very happy with this place and it's definitely going on the list to visit again. Bis dann!

One of the few remaining really excellent restaurants in the area from the moment you step in to the last bite of Kaiserschmarren!! Such a lovely service and welcoming team. Price of the three course menu totally reasonable for the outstanding quality and service

Delicious schnitzel, we loved it more the 1st time but the 2nd it seemed not as crispy. Overall, both times provided a friendly service and meal cosy atmosphere

My brother and I had an excellent time visiting Nußbaumerin. The food, atmosphere, and service were very good, and it showed off the best of Austrian cooking. Johanna was superb and really accommodating with my nut allergy. Johanna and her team made us feel right at home. Thank you very much and we’ll be back when we’re next in Berlin!
